The Best Gift Giver!

There are some people in this world that just know how to give gifts. They have an incredible knack of knowing exactly what to give and the perfect time to give it. Erica most definitely had that knack. Some of my most favorite gifts have come from her and still to this day mean the most to me... especially now.

On her birthday today my heart is full. There are so many reasons to celebrate her amazing life. With all the perfect gifts she has given me through the years, I feel the best thing I can give back to her is to follow her example. One of the best things she taught me was how important it is to forget yourself and be in tune with the needs of others. After saying goodbye to her in Florida almost 3 months ago, I came home recommitted to be as good of a person as she was and try to help others as much as she did.

It was amazing to me in those first few weeks of being super heightened in my awareness to help just how many small opportunities there are to help people. It doesn't have to be anything huge. Small things make a difference and it's amazing how great you feel when you forget about yourself. I absolutely love that she will always be the standard for me to look up to in this area.

I have been a slacker the last little bit and have let myself fall back into my old selfish ways. Today, on your birthday, I once again recommit to get over myself and put other's needs before my own. I know that's what you would want.

I miss you like crazy and am so thankful I can feel you from time to time...
I swear most of those times I can almost hear you laughing at me!!! =)

If you can't be here, you laughing at me from heaven is the next best thing...
